I’m excited to share a project I've been working on—Violet PWM, a straightforward, secure PHP password manager you can host on your own server. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or someone just looking for a reliable way to manage your passwords, Violet PWM has something for you.

What is Violet PWM?

Violet PWM is a personal password manager that runs on PHP. It's designed to be simple to set up and easy to use, making it accessible for everyone. Unlike many other password managers such as Passbolt, Bitwarden, or Bitdefender, Violet PWM doesn’t rely on Docker, complex hosting setups, or third-party services with monthly fees. You have complete control over your data, right on your own server.

Setting Up on Windows

One of the great things about Violet PWM is how easy it is to set up. Here’s a quick guide to getting started on Windows:

1. Install XAMPP: This software package makes it easy to set up a PHP server on your Windows machine.
2. Download Violet PWM: Grab the latest version from the GitHub repository.
3. Extract and Configure: Place the files in your XAMPP htdocs folder and update the configuration settings.
4. Create the Database: Use phpMyAdmin (included with XAMPP) to set up your database and import the provided SQL file.
5. Run the Application: Open your browser and navigate to localhost/violetpwm. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
